Willoughby Senior Center's annual flea market promises diverse shopping | cleveland.com:

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio -- Willoughby Senior Center presents its annual flea market at Daniels Park, 38401 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Friday, May 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors pay no admission and proceeds from the event benefit programming at the senior center. The market takes place rain or shine under the park's covered pavilions.
Amy Skolny, program coordinator, says, "we have everything under the sun." In addition to merchandise from outside vendors, the senior center collects items throughout the year for the big event. A bake sale will occur alongside the flea market.
Various vendors have already booked spaces in two pavilions and a third is filling fast. Vendors pay $10 to rent a table under the pavilions. "Junk-in-the-trunk" spots, parking spaces designated for sales, are available for $5, though unlike pavilion rentals, vendors must supply their own table. Persons interested in renting a space at the flea market should contact Skolny at 440-951-2832.
The Cleveland Sight Center's Traveling Store will also host a table. The store sells items that aid visually impaired persons, including magnifiers, big-button phones, large-print calendars, special watches and remotes. A representative from the center will be on hand to answer questions. The center, located at 1909 E. 101st St., has provided services for visually impaired northeast Ohio residents since 1906.
Hot dogs and various refreshments will also be sold at the flea market.
In past years, the senior center's long-running annual marketplace occurred in late summer. Complaints about heat and insects prompted the center to opt for a spring event this year.
The Willoughby Senior Center, 38032 Brown Ave., provides a wide variety of programming for the city's seniors. The center can be reached at 440-951-2832.
