Plainsman Huron Area Antique Power Show and Flea Market this weekend:
The 16th Annual Huron Area Antique Power Show and Flea Market will be held this Saturday and Sunday on the south side of the S.D. State Fairgrounds. This is a free admission event.
There will be antique cars, farm equipment and stationary gas engines of many makes and brands on display along with the flea market. The Richland 4-H club will be providing the lunch stand. A parade will be held daily at 2:30 p.m. An outdoor worship service will be held Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m.
“Odd Balls & Orphans” are the feature farm equipment, meaning equipment produced by companies that no longer exist. However, all brands are welcome and encouraged to exhibit.
Waterloo Boy is the featured brand of stationary gas engine this year. The Waterloo Boy was built in Waterloo, Iowa, from 1906 until the company was sold to John Deere in 1918 for $2.1 million.
The original Waterloo Boy model was continued then by Deere until 1921.
